Refund & Cancellation Policy
Understanding our refund policy for legal services and consultations provided by Adv. Rahul Singh.

This Refund and Cancellation Policy ("Policy") applies to all legal services, consultations, and payments made to Adv. Rahul Singh. By engaging our services or making a payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy. Please read this Policy carefully before making any payment.
1. Consultation Fees
Adv. Rahul Singh charges a nominal fee for initial consultations. This fee is disclosed to you before the consultation is scheduled. The consultation fee covers the time, expertise, and preliminary assessment provided during the consultation session.
1.1 Cancellation of Consultation
- 24+ hours notice: If you cancel your consultation at least 24 hours before the scheduled time, you are eligible for a 100% refund of the consultation fee paid.
- Less than 24 hours notice: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled consultation will result in no refund of the consultation fee.
- No-show: If you fail to attend the scheduled consultation without prior notice, no refund will be issued.
1.2 Rescheduling
You may reschedule your consultation up to 2 times without any additional fee, provided you notify us at least 12 hours before the scheduled time. Rescheduling requests made less than 12 hours before the consultation may be treated as a cancellation.
2. Retainer Fees & Legal Services
When you engage Adv. Rahul Singh for legal representation, a retainer agreement will be signed that outlines the scope of services, fee structure, and payment terms. The refund policy for legal services is governed by the specific retainer agreement.
2.1 General Principles
- Work Not Commenced: If you cancel the engagement before any work has been commenced on your case, you are eligible for a 100% refund of the retainer fee paid.
- Work Partially Commenced: If work has commenced but not completed, the refund amount will be calculated based on the work already performed at our standard hourly rates or as a proportion of the fixed fee, minus an administrative charge.
- Work Substantially Completed: No refund will be issued if substantial work (more than 50% of the agreed scope) has already been performed on your case.
- Court Fees & Government Charges: Any court fees, filing fees, stamp duty, or other government charges paid on your behalf are non-refundable once submitted to the court or government authorities.
2.2 Fixed Fee Cases
For matters where a fixed fee has been agreed upon:
- Cancellation within 7 days of signing the retainer agreement and before any work commencement: 90% refund (10% administrative charge).
- Cancellation after work commencement but before first hearing: Refund calculated on a pro-rata basis minus 20% administrative charges.
- Cancellation after first hearing or significant document drafting: No refund.
3. Documentation & Drafting Services
For services such as drafting legal notices, agreements, affidavits, wills, sale deeds, and other legal documents:
- Before draft preparation: 100% refund if cancellation requested before we begin drafting.
- After first draft provided: 50% refund, as significant time has already been invested.
- After final draft approved by client: No refund, regardless of whether the document has been printed or registered.
- Registration-related expenses: Stamp duty, registration fees, and other government charges are non-refundable once paid.
4. Hourly Billing Matters
For matters billed on an hourly basis:
- Refunds are calculated based on the actual hours worked at the agreed hourly rate.
- Any unused retainer amount will be refunded after deducting fees for hours worked.
- Hours are tracked and can be shared with the client upon request.
- Minimum billing increment is 15 minutes.
5. Refund Process
If you are eligible for a refund under this Policy, please follow these steps:
- Submit Request: Send a written refund request to rahul@rahulsinghlegal.com or via WhatsApp at +91 94536 09000.
- Provide Details: Include your full name, contact information, date of payment, amount paid, and reason for refund request.
- Processing Time: Refund requests are processed within 15-20 business days from the date of receipt of complete request.
- Refund Method: Refunds will be issued using the same method of payment used for the original transaction (bank transfer, UPI, card, etc.).
- Deductions: Any applicable bank charges, transaction fees, or administrative charges will be deducted from the refund amount.
6. Circumstances Beyond Control
In certain circumstances beyond our control, we may need to cancel or reschedule your consultation or case representation. These include but are not limited to:
- Court closures or unexpected adjournments
- Illness or emergency involving Adv. Rahul Singh
- Technical issues during virtual consultations
- Legal disability or conflict of interest discovered after engagement
In such cases, we will offer you a full refund of any fees paid for the specific cancelled service or the option to reschedule at no additional cost. We will not be liable for any consequential damages arising from such cancellations.
7. Non-Refundable Items
The following items are non-refundable under all circumstances:
- Court fees, filing fees, process fees, and any other government/statutory charges.
- Stamp duty and registration fees.
- Professional fees for work already performed and documented.
- Fees for services that have been fully rendered (e.g., completed consultations, final drafts delivered).
- Travel expenses, out-of-pocket expenses, and disbursements incurred on your behalf.
- Bank charges, transaction fees, or payment gateway charges.
8. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes regarding refunds or this Policy shall first be attempted to be resolved through mutual discussion. If the dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it shall be referred to mediation in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. If mediation fails, the dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
9. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on this page, with the "Effective Date" updated accordingly. However, any refund requests for services already paid for will be governed by the Policy in effect at the time of payment.
